Kanye West has been dominating headlines lately thanks to his Oval Office meeting with President Donald Trump, where he revealed his “air tight security” iPhone password to the world that has elicited amusing responses from internet users.

Several hours before West showed up at the White House in his MAGA cap, however, a poem written by the late Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen targeting West surfaced online.

Singer-songwriter Amanda Shires shared the poem called ‘Kanye West Is Not Picasso’ on Twitter. The written piece is part of Cohen’s posthumous collection of lyrics and poetry called The Flame, which was released last week.

Cohen composed the poem on 15 March 2015, before he passed away. It was penned after West compared himself to famous artist Pablo Picasso while giving his speech at Oxford University. The poem reads, “I am the Kanye West of Kanye West / The Kanye West / Of the great bogus shift of bullshit culture… I am the Kanye West Kanye West thinks he is.”

The post has received more than 10,600 likes and multiple responses from social media users. “[L]eonard [C]ohen out here dropping diss tracks from the grave,” one Twitter user wrote. Another responded, “The ultimate mic drop.”

In spite of these digs, Cohen had spoken admirably about West in a 2014 interview with the Wall Street Journal, where he commended West’s “energy, resonance of truth, of real experience.”

Leonard Cohen taking Kanye down in a diss poem from beyond the grave is too much for me. My brain is broken and what is life.
