While Apple’s iPhone XS is essentially an extension of 2017’s iPhone X, it might be worth the upgrade depending on the model you have on hand right now.
The company notes how confusing its diverse smartphone lineup might be to some users, which is why it has launched a 3D tool to aid their purchasing choices this year.
To simplify things further for you, Business Insider has put together a list of suggested new iPhones to get based on your current smartphone. Frankly, your next device doesn’t have to be the priciest one.
This year, Apple brought down the starting prices of the iPhones 7 and 8 to US$449 and US$599 respectively, making room for the US$749 iPhone XR, US$999 iPhone XS, and US$1,099 iPhone XS Max.
Scroll down for some recommendations. Seeing as how smartphones are getting more premium, you might also want to confirm your choice through this visualizer.
For iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X users
Your device comes pretty close to the technology in iPhone XS and XS Max, so there’s no need to make an upgrade unless you want dibs on the newest models.
For iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus users
You could wait until Apple unleashes a more radically designed iPhone in 2019 or switch to the Face ID-powered iPhones XS, XS Max, or XR this year.
For iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus users
You might want to switch to the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus if you can’t bear to part with Touch ID. If you’re ready to make the transition, you could grab the newer iPhone XS or XS Max; or wait a couple of weeks for the cheaper iPhone XR to debut.
For users of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus or older
It’s recommended that you upgrade your iPhone, since these older models are beginning to get glitchy. As stated above, you can grab an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus if you’re partial to Touch ID. Otherwise, you might want to get a new iPhone XS, XS Max, or XR.[via Business Insider, cover image via Apple] http://www.designtaxi.com/news/401814/Which-iPhone-You-Should-Buy-According-To-The-Apple-Device-You-re-Using-Now/
